Shweta Labs (IIT Bombay)
Brand and product narrative for a cybersecurity company
Brand identity refresh, product strategy, and investor communication for a company building forensic investigation and criminal intelligence tools.

About
Shweta Labs builds forensic investigation and criminal intelligence tools. Its founding team brings experience from the Indian military special forces and national cybercrime units, along with expertise in mathematics.
I worked closely with the founding team on product strategy and storytelling, a focused brand identity refresh, and investor communication.
Challenge
The challenge was making specialised technology understandable to different stakeholder groups (partners, customers, grant providers) without losing the detail that matters. I needed to understand where each tool fits in an investigation, what information people need from it, and why its capabilities matter at that point in the process. In a high-stakes, sensitive domain like this, desk research could only take one so far, and it needs an in-depth understanding of field workflows.
Outcome
A clearer product narrative that connects technical capabilities to their role in an investigation. Conversations with domain experts, workflow mapping, and hands-on competitor demonstrations informed how the products are framed and explained.
That understanding gives the team a foundation for communicating what each product does, where it fits into investigative work, and why its capabilities matter. It also informs the product concepts themselves — connecting strategy and communication to the realities of the domain. The brand refresh supports that narrative across the company’s materials.

For Shweta Labs, I worked on a focused brand identity refresh and helped build the product strategy & communication foundation for a company operating in the highly specialised space of forensic investigation and criminal intelligence tools.
The technology is built for real investigative environments, where the details have to hold up in the field.

Because of the sensitivity and complexity of the domain, traditional desk research was rarely enough.
Understanding the space required conversations with domain experts, mapping investigative workflows, and studying competitor tools through hands-on demonstrations. This helped translate highly technical investigative capabilities into clearer product concepts and communication. The logo had already been trademarked two years earlier, so the goal wasn’t to redesign it completely, but to carefully evolve it while preserving its legal and visual continuity.
From there, I established the foundations of the brand system — defining typography, colour palette, visual patterns, and the broader brand language that could scale across different contexts. This extended into building a set of brand and marketing assets across both digital and physical touchpoints, helping ensure consistency in how the company presents itself to partners, institutions, and stakeholders.Alongside the brand work, I also worked closely with the founding team on investor pitch decks and product storytelling — helping shape how the product vision, technology, and roadmap are communicated.
The work continues as an ongoing project, supporting both the evolution of the brand and the broader product narrative as the company grows.
